“Little Acts Of Kindness”: amidst the coldness of winter, we celebrate the spirit of the holidays by giving. Now and throughout the year, let’s give the heart-warming gift that never wears out or becomes outdated…kindness~from the Harte

A friend of mine once told me that his mother always told him to ‘be nice’. Being nice is being polite which is important as it promotes civility.

However being kind is deeper. Being kind is being not only considerate but generous and caring. Kindness is a special sort of gentleness displayed by the way in which you speak to and treat others. Kindness is not limited to just people but animals show acts of kindness as well.

Kindness denotes being tender hearted. If one is kind, it does not mean that you are weak. One of my mother’s favorite sayings was a warning to beware of some people who might exploit kindness saying: “people can take kindness for weakness”. On the contrary, she knew kindness demonstrates strength of character and a reserve of generosity.

Being kind fits the saying: “do unto others as you would have others do unto you”. It takes a strong person to look out for more than just self. It’s easier to tend to your own needs than to consider the needs of those around you; it takes an inner fortitude and a tender heart to be genuinely concerned about the well-being of others.

A demonstration of kindness doesn’t have to be grandiose. It can just be little acts like holding the door open for the next person, letting a driver switch lanes in front of you, giving words of encouragement when someone is sad, getting that top shelf item at the grocery store for someone who can’t reach it or saying, “I’m sorry and meaning it”, etc.

Just the word kindness evokes a certain tenderness. It’s funny how words take on their own frequency/vibration. Is this because words accurately describe how we are actually feeling or do words, after being used so often to describe how we feel, take on a resonance of that quality?

A person can be taught to be polite but can you be taught to be kind? Kindness comes from the heart and with its every beat sustains our very physical existence. Perhaps also along with every heart beat, there is a sort of indigenous, ethereal kindness pulsating through our bodies connecting us collectively heartbeat to heartbeat… written by ~from the Harte 🤜🏽⚡🤛🏽

What do You Believe in? 🌞 💡🚀

What’s On Your Mind…

How do you decide what course of action you should take to pursue your goals? to make your thoughts a reality?

Are you the type of person that seeks approval from others before you go after your dreams? Some believe in what they want to attain only after others validate what they believe. This says a lot about what your belief in yourself. Of course, it’s smart to know as much as you can gather about what you are about to put your time and energy into but once you are more informed, if it’s something you truly believe in, go for it!

Yes, there will be friends and family who point out all the negative reasons why you shouldn’t go for what you want and these people may have your best interest at heart. However, they may just be projecting their own fears onto you; they would never dare to venture out into unchartered territory, take a big risk. There is some truth to the old adage, “nothing ventured, nothing gained”.

We are the beneficiaries of great thinkers who created life-changing medicine, mechanical inventions, technologies and who also challenged us to think in more expansive ways. The great innovators of the world may have suspected that their ideas would be met with criticism and even contempt however, their belief in their ideas and themselves was far greater than remaining dormant.

When one is going out of the norm of what has been accepted, practiced and ordained, there may be many trials and tribulations to confront but it is that unwavering belief in one’s self that keeps dreams alive. It seems to be a knee-jerk reaction for people to doubt and criticize new, different ways of approaching  life as people are generally creatures of habit.

It takes a bold, self-confident, sometimes rebels, to make the world take note of the burning passion that lives in those who know they have something to contribute to the evolution of humankind. When you have this driving conviction and belef in yourself, the doubt and opposition encountered is precisely the validation that lets you know you’re on to something.

Fun Fact: Usher Reveals He Was Once A ‘Chaperone’ For Beyoncé When She Was A Tween

I Remember Beyonce Way Back…

Usher and Beyoncé go way back… even further than we already knew. In a recent interview, the singer revealed that he first met Beyoncé when she was just a child.

“Fun fact, I knew Beyoncé when she was 12 years old, 11 years old,” Usher revealed per People. “She used to be in a group by the name of The Dolls. I don’t know if I could consider myself their babysitter, but I had a time where I had to watch The Dolls.” That means the R&B singer would have been about 14 or 15 when he watched Beyoncé and The Dolls. Usher signed his first recording deal with L.A. Reid around that time as well.

Usher continued the story, “I was at Daryl Simmons’ house. [Simmons] was working with [The Dolls] at the time, and I just happened to be over there and they were working on a session. I kind of found my way into being their like, I don’t know, chaperone, nanny, or something like that — the oldest person in the room.”

Since then, Usher and Beyoncé have crossed paths frequently, performing together and also joining forces for their collaboration called “Love In This Club, Pt. II” which also featured rapper Lil Wayne. The song was included on Usher’s 2008 album Here I Stand.

As Beyonce continues her massively successful Renaissance World Tour, Usher is getting ready to perform a series of concerts in Paris, France, in mid-September before concluding his Las Vegas residency, My Way, at Dolby Live at Park MGM later this fall.

Terence Crawford 🥊 and Eminem 🎧 Unite For: “The Walk That Made History”

TERENCE CRAWFORD AND EMINEM team up for “THE WALK” that made history!

It all started with an idea and a tweet. The power of social media led to one of the biggest music stars in the world accompanying one of the biggest boxing stars to the ring on July 29th.

Eminem, a big fan of Terence Crawford, took him down to the ring before Crawford faced off against Errol Spence Jr. Crawford, the WBO welterweight champion, competed against WBC, IBF, and WBA champion Spence for the status of the undisputed welterweight champion.

Known for classics like “Lose Yourself,” “Stan,” and “Not Afraid,” Eminem rapped Crawford down in a full circle moment.

The moment stemmed from when Crawford posted a recent video of a discussion he had with Shakur Stevenson. While in training, both fighters talked about the upcoming fight, with Crawford saying who he’d want to bring him down to the ring.

“You know what I was thinking would be crazy s—? I think it would be dope to have Eminem walk me out or something like that,” Crawford said. “He’s never walked nobody out, huh?”

Eminem caught wind of the video and responded by saying, “This is 2 crazy.!!! You r 1 of my favorite boxers rn!”

Both appeared to come together following that post to collaborate on an epic walkout.

While he has never boxed professionally, Emimem has gotten involved in the sport. He boxes for exercise, has appeared on the “Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson” podcast, and produced music for the movie Southpaw starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

It is the first time Eminem walked a fighter in a big fight, as he rarely makes appearances.

Emimem joined a packed T-Mobile Arena that included several celebrities:  Andre 3000, Damian Lillard, Mario Lopez, Mark Wahlberg, Chance The Rapper, and Cardi B are just a few names that paid to see Spence vs. Crawford.

DOJA CAT 🦁 Grabs Your “ATTENTION” in her new video, Watch

DOJA’s Got Our Attention, We Have To Look…Even if we just sneak a peak, Watch

Within the past year and a half, Doja Cat has threatened to quit music after fighting with fans and dismissed her own discography; she’s called her prior rap verses “mid and corny” and labeled her past two albums, Hot Pink and Planet Her, as “mediocre pop” and a “cash grab.” Her latest single, “Attention,” weighs in on recent controversy.

Opening with a fluttering harp and a canned loon call, the song responds to criticisms of her appearance (“Lost a lil’ weight, but I ain’t never lost a tushy”) and her decision to drop out of  The Weeknd’s After Hours Till Dawn tour (“I coulda been an opener, I redirect the bookin’”), biting back against the patronizing commentary of so-called fans.

Foregrounding her rapping chops, Doja Cat spits over ‘’90s hip-hop production as if she’s in an audition. She’s got heads turned in her direction; now we watch and wait.

Listen 🎧 to Songs From Doechii, Sunmi, The Beths, And More…

            Doechii                             Sunmi                       The Beths

Doechii: at the height of her career and it’s only going up from here. Relishing in her rising stardom, she catwalks through concert venues with witty bars and an infectious beat. Her flourishing, lavish lifestyle is the result of her being one of the most lyrically-engaging rappers in the game right now. —Gwyn Cutler

Sunmi: Feeling summer fever over someone? Sunmi can relate. Unlike most upbeat summer tracks, there is a sentimental and dreamy vibe with its percussion sounds and chimes, summoning the burning magma bubbling through the veins you might experience when starting to feel an attraction and connection with someone. “Oh, my, I’m getting breathless / When you look at me,” she sings hypnotically. “I am getting hot, oh, my! / Is it because of the heat?” It definitely is the heat of passion. —Athena Serrano

The Beths: New Zealand indie-rock quartet The Beths have always had a knack for making love’s cruel sting feel a bit softer, thanks to their stunning 4-part harmonies, incisive lyrics, and catchy choruses. Their latest offering, which also serves as the title track to their forthcoming album (out September 16), delivers on every level. Over an understated production, lead singer Elizabeth Stokes applies the scientific method to romance, consulting both memory and nature in attempts to make sense of the scars left by past relationships. Perhaps her most astute observation is her least conclusive, as the track builds into buzzing guitars and thrashing drums, and she notes, “Love is learned over time / ’Til you’re an expert in a dying field.” —Carson Mlnarik
