OUR CROSS ✝️ TO BEAR

Living our best lives…

As I note my thoughts in this writing, we are in Mercury Retrograde Season, Jupiter has ingressed into the zodiac sign of Aries and we have an approaching total lunar eclipse in Scorpio May 15th at 7:28 p.m., PT. The universe is in perpetual motion. However, the Nodes Of Destiny/Karma remain in Taurus , north node, and Scorpio, south node.

The north and south nodes travel together in pairs. The north and south nodes are always exactly opposite each other, 180 degrees apart, and remain in their respective signs for about eighteen months as they move into different signs. We humans being of physical composition, ideally need time to realize, comprehend and process change. Eighteen months is not a lot of time but an ample amount of  time for us to become aware of the need for change.

I do not think it is a coincidence that we have the nodes in fixed signs along with Saturn. Let’s think about it, Taurus, where the north node is currently residing, is about personal needs. At the very minimum, we need air, water and food to sustain life. Scorpio, the present position of the south node, is about shared resources. The other power player at this time is Saturn in Aquarius. Aquarius is about the group, the collective. When you consider the fourth fixed sign of Leo (many natives have Leo placements in our charts and we will have planet transits in Leo during the current node placements), the sign of creativity and leadership, it seems there is a message that the Universe is sending us.

The leaders and citizens of the world need to come together as a group to improve the ecosystem of the planet, our shared resource, in order to sustain life as we know it.

This is a very important time in our evolutionary history, personally and universally. It starts with each individual but inevitably encompasses us all.

The Signposts

The transpersonal planets are especially important and have been highlighted for some time now. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are all weighing in. The exact squares between Saturn in Capricorn with Uranus in Aries in 2021 had us looking at what parts of society’s government needed to change as opposed to our individual’s rights. Jupiter and Neptune joining forces this year in April in the sign of Pisces, which hadn’t happened in over 150 years, seemed to remind us that in the midst of all the changes in the physical world, spirituality may not feed our bellies but is needed to feed our souls and informs us that we can not only survive the upheaval but we have a means to thrive by uplifting the physicality of our material world.

All of us living in these times, are here for a reason; there are no accidents. We all have a role to play both personally and globally.

This year with the nodes in fixed signs squared by Saturn in a fixed sign, change is now and we can no longer afford to hold on to what does not take us into the humanitarian Age of Aquarius. Just imagine what the world would be like if we nursed our planet to health and there were no more war… This would be incredible and it’s possible.

2020’s Saturn, Pluto conjunction, The Great Conjunction tag team of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius, no less, the pandemic and so many other celestial aspects seem to be signaling us to do what we came here to do: embrace our cross.

In Astrology, the angles: first, fourth, seventh and tenth houses form a cross. It’s interesting the angles forming the cross: the first house, east across to the west’s 7th house forms the horizontal axis. The 10th house apex of the chart to the fourth house, depths of the chart, forms the vertical axis so we are born into the energies of the cross.

Taking It On

I do not see the cross we bear as something negative or positive; it just is. When we are born, separated from the warmth of the womb, we take on the work of bearing the cross. Living physical lives is the cross we bear. The term, “cross to bear”, is usually referenced as something negative and can rightfully connote negativity as it is related to Jesus carrying the weight of his cross to his crucifixion.

But it also means taking on what we call life. Once we are born, we are not only separated from our mother but we have a whole role to assume: sustain our own life, figure out our position in our family, establish relationships with other people, earn a living, define who we are: a parent, a spouse, a teacher, politician, healer, who we are recognized as being, etc, and ultimately what our legacy will be.

How do we transform our individual selves and humanity during this period of evolution?

Astrology is a practice that helps us to understand who we are, physically, philosophically, spiritually which opens us up to see beyond just what is in front of us but Astrology bathes us in the cosmic flow of the universe.

Yes, we all have a cross to bear living life but Earth endows us with beauty a plenty. You might equate our cross to bear with Saturn, the heavy planet there to remind us of our responsibility and Venus helps remind us of all the love and beauty life has to offer. It is interesting to note that Saturn is exalted in Venus’s sign of Libra ♎, the sign of the scales, balance.

Let’s make Saturn proud and live up to the promise of humanity diligently tending to its duties faithfully as compassionate stewards; all the while the charms of Venus enchants us with the tenderness of her love and beauty emanating from our hearts.

Let us consciously work towards building Utopia, we can.

Let’s Go!
